WHEN LADY JUSTICE IS BLINDFOLDED WITH BIAS
Here we go, film buffs, with “Juror #2”, our fifth and final Movie Experience for this year.
After recovering his alcohol addiction Justin is now a dedicated family man and father-to-be. One stormy night he finds himself in a bar where James and his girlfriend have a heated argument. The woman is found dead in a ditch the next morning. James, whose past involvement in a gang makes him a prime suspect, is accused of murder and put on trial. Justin is called in as one of the jurors in charge of finding the truth. However, James is innocent, while Justin realizes that the body that he accidentally knocked over the bridge that same night on his way back home was not a deer’s but the girl’s.
Now, here comes Justin’s dilemma: should he make the truth surface and risk a heavy sentence or let a wretched but innocent man rot in jail?
Individual conscience and the fallacies of a neglectful justice system are the food-for-thought that 94-year-old director Clint Eastwood is handing us with this movie, on at Palariviera Wednesday 28 at 18:00 at the price of five euros. Be there!
